    Never learned to sew? Remember learning how to sew in middle or high school? This series is a great chance to learn or update your sewing skills. It’s always fun to sew with others!   • Advanced Sewing:

      Already know how to sew? This is an open “Lab” class where you let your creative juices flow! Bring your own projects or choose from instructor suggested projects to stretch and grow your sewing skills.
      Learn all about Zippers, Ruffles, Button Holes, Quilting, Decorative Stitches… and More. Previous sewing camps or experience required. Ages 8-18 Limited to 8 students.

  • Sewing After School (SAS): Wednesdays, 4:00-6:00 pm* (may arrive at 3:30 pm)
    February 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th

    $120
    An ongoing program designed to cover all the basics of sewing. Students complete simple to more advanced projects as their skills grow. “New to sewing” students begin with sewing machine basics while crafting a pillowcase with French seams and a pair of pajama pants. “Continuing” students’ projects are skill and interest driven. Classes are formed in 4 week sessions and are multi-leveled. Students can bring their own machine or use one of our many studio machines. Materials for the first project are provided. Make-up classes may be available with instructor permission. No experience needed.

  • Beginners Sewing: February 17th, 10:00am-1:00 pm  || March 10th,  1:00-4:00 pm

    You will learn the basic use of a sewing machine and how to maintain a straight seam. This class is perfect for people who have never used a sewing machine and those who have had a little bit of experience a long time ago and need a refresher course. Sewing machines and a make-and- take project are provided

  • Sewing Boot Camp for Kids: April 2nd – 6th || AM [9:00 am-12:00 pm]/PM [2:00-5:00 pm]
    $100 for 5 days
     A sewing experience where creative expression is the key to learning and an encouraging environment is always in style. Designed for students with little or no prior sewing machine experience, this intensive class aims to cover a healthy range of basic sewing skills with fun projects. By end of course you will be able to tackle a simple sewing project with confidence. Sewing machines, handouts, and patterns are provided. Students repeating the camp experience will be given more advanced projects. Supply list provided at registration.

  • COME LEARN TO SEW! (Absolute Beginner): June 18-22, July 23-27, August 6-10 || AM [9:00 am-12:00 pm]/PM [2:00-5:00 pm]
    $120 for 5 days
    Designed for students with little or no prior sewing experience. Learn: threading, fixing tension, sew straight and curved seams and how to use a pattern. Sew a “Burrito” style pillow case and a pair of pajama pants. By end of camp, participants will be able to tackle a simple sewing project with confidence. Sewing machines, handouts, and patterns are provided. (Students repeating the camp experience will be given more advanced projects.)Limited to 6 students, Ages 8-16+

  • American Girl Couture (Confident Beginner): June 25-27, and July 9-11 || 10:00 am-2:00 pm
    $100 for one 3 day session
    This class is for students who are very comfortable with threading and operating a sewing machine. Patterns, Fabric, Machines, Pre-cuts, Fashion Challenge, Prizes…
    Everything provided to make your doll a Fashionista. Bring your doll, a lunch, and all your creative mojo. All supplies provided!
    Ages 8-16+ Limited to 6 students

  • Fashion Design (Intermediate Sewists): July 16-18 and August 13-15 || 10:00 am-2:00 pm
    $100 for one 3 day session
    This camp is designed for aspiring fashion designers who are ready to tackle drafting flat patterns from body measurements. You will start by making a simple straight skirt body block using your personal measurements, and then learn how to add design lines to create any skirt style you want! If your student has not taken classes at Let’s Get Sewing!, please call the instructor to verify suitability. (509-217-7049) This class is intended for students with strong sewing skills who are ready to begin designing their own garments.Ages 8-16+ Limited to 4 students

    Supply List:
    * Given after first class when students have designed their skirts. It will mostly consist of 1 ½-2 yards woven cotton fabric, spool of matching thread, and any coordinating trims/notions. Any zippers/elastic will be provided.

  • Advanced: Open Lab (Advanced Sewing): June 28-29, July 12-13, August 16-17 || 10:00 am-2:00 pm

    In this camp students will get bring a project of their choice, and work on it with supervision and assistance. This class is for students who are very comfortable with threading and operating a sewing machine, are able to sew independently, and have some experience following commercial pattern instructions. Permission required to register for this camp; limited to 4 students. There is no supply list for this camp, as each student will bring their own project.

  • Advanced Sewing!:
    American Girl Tye-Dye Tent (materials provided), Pajama Pants for student and doll.
    Materials: 3.5 yards of pre-washed flannel, 1 yard of 3/4″ elastic.
    Must have completed previous Sewing Camp, be enrolled in “Learn to Sew!”, or have instructor permission.
    Suggested Ages: 8 – 12 yrs
  • All Things Sewing: Sewing machine cover & tool mat:
    • TBA
      Sew a sewing machine cover and applique it with a design you create! Then make a mat for your sewing machine that includes handy pockets for all your favorite sewing machine tools. This class is for students who are very comfortable with threading and operating a sewing machine, and/or have completed Sewing Boot Camp. Limited to 8 students.
      Supply List:
      Cover – ½ yd. each of 2 coordinating/contrasting quilting weight cotton + 2 matching fat quarters.
      Mat – ½ yd quilting weight cotton + 1 coordinating fat qtr. And 1 pkg. extra-wide-double-fold bias tape for trim.
  • American Girl Couture (class):

  • American Girl Sewing (Summer):
    • July 24th – 28th [AM|PM]

      Patterns, Fabrics, Machines…everything provided to make your doll a fashionista. Bring your doll and let your creative juices flow. Pre-cut outfits to sew and embellish or myriad fashion fabric scraps to create your own designs. Fashion show and tea party on the last day. Student must be able to independently thread a machine, make a bobbin, and sew a consistent ¼ inch seam. Sewing Bootcamp recommended. Pre-camp private lessons also available. Limited to 8 students. All supplies included.
  • Aprons w/Pintucks: Double needle sewing:

      AMAZE YOUR FRIENDS! Amaze all the “grown-ups” you know with this beautiful and deceptively easy technique. This will broaden your fashion creativity and add a new tool to your “embellishment” toolbox! (Even the grown-ups will want to take this camp!) OH! I almost forgot…. You get a very cool apron too!!!Supply List:
      1 ½ yd. medium weight cotton fabric. ½ yd. cotton Batiste (solid color), and 1 – 2.0/80 double needle.
  • Beginning Pattern Drafting: A-Line Skirt:

      This camp is designed for student aspiring fashion designers who are ready to tackle drafting flat patterns from body measurements. You will start by making a simple straight skirt body block using your personal measurements, and then learn how to add design lines to create other skirt styles. Limited to only 6 students. This class is intended for students with strong sewing skills who are ready to begin designing their own garments.Supply List:

  • Elastic Waist Skirt w/Infinity Scarf:
    • TBA [AM/PM]
      In this camp, students will make a simple elastic-waist, gathered skirt with optional trim applied near the hem. Students will continue building machine operation and stitching skills, while making an easy “infinity” circle scarf. Advanced students taking this camp will make an elastic-waist gathered skirt with a contrast color band along the hemline. This class is for students who are very comfortable with threading and operating a sewing machine, and/or have completed Sewing Boot Camp.
      Limited to 8 students.Supply List:
      Skirt: ½ yd. quilting type cotton – each of three different but coordinating prints/solids (Total 1 ½ yard fabric), Scarf: ½ yd. 60″ wide light weight knit or woven fabric.
  • Fairy Garden Scene: Embroidery Camp:

      Learning to embroider is not as tough as you might think! With a bit of practice, you’ll get it down in no time. Plus, embroidery is a nice relaxing thing to do. Choose your own colors and learn 8-10 basic embroidery stitches creating a delightful fairy garden scene. Learn about thread, hooping, transferring patterns, and creating your own.
      Limited to 8 students.Materials:
      6″, 8″, or 10″ plastic embroidery hoop that has a screw for tension adjustment. These can easily be found at any store selling craft supplies.
  • FREE Service Project Sewing:  November 18th, 10:00-??:??
    Come join us and help make fleece blankets for the homeless! All materials provided, drop in for a bit or stay all day, whichever you prefer. Starts at 10AM and lasts until the last person goes home.

  • Learn to Knit:
    • TBA
      Come learn to knit in a relaxed setting. Start a beginning project like a scarf or a dishcloth. Knitting is a relaxing skill that gives something for the effort. Knitting travels well and provides many options for gift giving. This skill increases dexterity, brain function, and a personal sense of accomplishment. Needles + yarn = endless possibilities! Limited to 8 students.Supply List:
      Size 8 knitting needles no more than 8-10″ long. Shorter is better for small hands. 1 skein cotton yarn (such as: Lily Sugar ‘N Cream Yarn).
  • Learn to Sew!:
    Pillow Case, Drawstring Bag, Zipper Pouch. All materials provided! No experience required.

  • Sewing Boot Camp (Summer):

A sewing experience where creative expression is the key to learning and an encouraging environment is always in style. If your student has little or no experience with a sewing machine, the best camp for her or him is Sewing Bootcamp. This intensive class aims to cover a healthy range of basic sewing skills while sewing 3 projects. By the of the course they will be able to tackle a simple sewing project with confidence. Students repeating the camp experience will be given projects that allow them to continue practicing current skills while moving forward. Supply list provided with registration. Machines, handouts, and patterns are provided. Limited to 8 students.Ages: 8 – 16yrs

Supply List: Pajama Pants: 3 yd. flannel (no fleece or directional fabric.) 1 yd. ¾” elastic. All other supplies provided.

  • Sewing with your Feet:
    Ever wonder what all the extra gizmos that came with your sewing machine actually do? In this class you’ll learn several techniques that you can do with the different attachments that came with your machine. Bring your machine and all the accessories that came with it or use one of ours. Examples are: rolled hem, blind hem, finished edge, decorative stitching, gathering, and more. Basic Sewing experience required. Supply list provided at registration.
  • Twirly Skirts:

Who doesn’t feel special in a skirt that swirls when you twirl? And, who knew they were so easy to make? Sew a circle skirt with a pattern made just for you! Personalize with embellishments and soon your closet will be full of your creative accomplishments. Your friends will be begging you to make them one too!! Sewing Boot Camp or equivalent required.

Supply List:
1 twin flat sheet or 2 ½ yards 60″ wide cotton, cotton/poly, or non-stretch polyester. (Must be a good weight fabric – not “floaty”) No directional fabric please.
Optional trim: 6 ½ yards of desired trim. This goes around the bottom of the skirt.

  • UFO Sewing:
    Come enjoy an afternoon of productivity and camaraderie! Bring in your “Un-Finished Objects” and projects. Our studio contains skilled sewists, large clean cutting surfaces, sewing machines, and just about every sewing gizmo you could ever need.
  • WINTER BREAK SEWING: January 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, 9:00-12:00 pm or 2:00-5:00 pm
    Got a new machine for Christmas? Bring it to along and come learn how to thread it, sew even seams, and use those mysterious gizmos while making fun projects for home and school! All materials provided!
